(and now the practice of yoga)
At Painted Lotus Yoga and Wellness, practices like yoga, Tai Chi, and Qigong are more than fitness—they’re holistic tools for personal growth and spiritual exploration. Our classes blend movement with breath-work, meditation, mindfulness, philosophy, humor, and community connection. These practices offer inclusive, universal pathways that complement therapy, support medical care, and deepen your understanding of and connection to your personal beliefs. Whatever brings you to our community, we’re here to meet you where you are and help you build a practice that’s sustainable, supportive, and meaningful to your life.

Yoga:
Yoga is a rich, inclusive tradition that supports physical, mental, and emotional well-being. More than just exercise, it offers accessible movement for all bodies and abilities. At Painted Lotus, our experienced instructors guide you through breath work, meditation, mindfulness, and philosophy - rooted in yoga’s history and tailored to your needs. Whether you're seeking an energizing flow, a slow and steady flow, or restful stillness, we offer practice without the pressure of performance within a vibrant, radically welcoming community. Benefits of a consistent yoga practice may include: • Reduced stress and tension • Increased strength, mobility, and joint stability • Improved breath capacity, focus, and sleep |
Mindful Movement:
Rooted in Taoism and Traditional Chinese Medicine, Tai Chi and Qigong are gentle, evidence-supported movement practices that promote harmony, balance, and well-being through slow, continuous motion and mindful breathing. Led by longtime practitioner Rebecca Brooks, trained at the Tai Chi for Health Institute, our classes offer low-impact, moving meditation that calms the mind and releases nervous tension through active motion. Tai Chi and Qigong are wonderful compliments to more active martial arts practices. Benefits of continued practice may include: • Lower blood pressure • Improved strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination • Reduced anxiety and depression • Enhanced memory, cognition, and pain management • Relief from arthritis symptoms |
Meditation and Mindfulness
If yoga is practice, mindfulness is the way to practice. Often undervalued, meditation and mindfulness are foundational elements of yoga that cultivate mental clarity, emotional resilience, and physical ease. Though distinct, both offer profound benefits—and are the foundation around which all yoga classes are formed at Painted Lotus.
Occasionally, we offer dedicated workshops or classes to deepen your understanding and practice. While meditation can be challenging, it is the heart of yoga—a steady, transformative path toward vitality and inner harmony.
