SELENITE

Selenite is a hydrous calcium sulfate mineral with a MOH’s hardness of 2. All selenite is extremely soft and can easily be scratched by a fingernail. Selenite is closely related to fibrous gypsum, also known as Satin Spar. Its crystals are typically tabular with striations running along the length. Selenite can be colorless, white, gray, green, or golden brown depending on the presence of other mineral inclusions. Selenite is known to exhibit chatoyancy, or the cat’s eye effect. 
Named for Selene, the Greek goddess of the moon, selenite is often utilized when working with lunar energies, particularly around the full moon.

Crystal and Reiki practitioners believe selenite is a calming stone that can be used for strengthening the memory and to help instill deep peace for meditation or spiritual work. Many believe the powerful vibration of selenite can clear, open and activate the Crown and Higher Chakras facilitating connection to, and communion with, the Higher Self. 
Hold this stone in your hand, place it gently over the heart center, or allow it rest against the top of your head while reclined during meditation. To stimulate the Third Eye Chakra, gently rest your Selenite Palm stone on the forehead at the center of the brow. This is one stone that should be in every collection!

FLUORITE

Known and prized for is glassy luster and wide array of colors, Fluorite is a calcium fluoride crystal with a Moh's hardness of 4. Its growth pattern is cubic or octahedral and it is often found growing with minerals such as Quartz, Calcite, and Barite. Fluorite's range of colors include: colorless, green, blue, purple, white, yellow, red, pink, and black. Oftentimes, multiple colors appear in one stone. While the various colors of Fluorite have certain metaphysical associations to them, generally all Fluorite is traditionally believed to be useful for enhancing learning and memorization abilities, calming and organizing overwhelming thought processes, resolving negative thought patterns and aiding one in discerning the next step in their life path.  Green fluorite, like those pictured here, are thought to align the thoughts, words, and actions of the mind with heart energy and are believed to support the heart chakra as well as the physical heart itself.  The black, brown and golden hues of the fluorite palm stones, are thought to align the will with the mind, aiding in manifestation while transmuting negative thought patterns. Helping scattered and discordant energies become cohesive and harmonic, this stone has been referred to as a force of order in the stone kingdom, giving form and structure to energies, ideas and concepts and helping them to manifest in tangible reality.

For those who enjoy learning about and working with the colors and stones associated with the energy centers of the Seven Chakra System, this pendulum is a perfect companion for guidance and divination. 
How to use a pendulum:
Hold the chain firmly but loosely in your dominant hand near the Fob (quartz bead)
Allow the pendulum to hang freely
Position over the palm of your other hand.
State aloud, "Show me 'No'." Watch which way the pendulum swings (back and forth, side to side, in circles). 
Stop the pendulum by stating aloud, "Stop". The pendulum may stop swinging or you may need to stop the swing yourself. The more you work with your pendulum, the easier this becomes! Now repeat the same steps while asking to see "Yes".
