Practice led by Lynda Kees (she/her), RYT 500
Yoga Nidra is a meditative yogic technique that facilitates deep physical, mental, and emotional relaxation. It is practiced in savasana (relaxation pose), wearing light, loose clothing, and lying comfortably in a "cocoon" or "nest" using blankets, pillow/bolster, eye pillow, neck support, whatever you need to feel completely comfortable. Lyning in shavasana (relaxation pose), you will remain aware of the instructor’s voice, moving the focus of your mind according to the instructions. Rotation of conscious awareness proceeds in a sequence beginning with a detailed full body scan, then through any of a wide variety of visualizations. In this practice, you are encouraged to remain relaxed, spontaneous, and at peace -- not striving for anything, allowing whatever experiences arise. Although Yoga Nidra is often referred to as “yogic sleep,” your body and mind are completely relaxed and your mind is alert. We will begin this practice with a few minutes of gentle stretching to get the kinks out before we settle down for this powerful, peaceful practice. Please bring a comfortable blanket or throw, socks, and your mat if you usually bring one. We will provide yoga mats, additional blankets, eye pillows, neck pillows, and bolsters for those who want to use them. Remember, you are creating a cozy nest for yourself to relax in for about 45 minutes. |

Session facilitated by Clarissa Boggess (she/her), PLYW owner/instructor, Reiki practitioner, HMACM
Session is $25 per person Transition to Autumn with a little energetic hygiene! Ever been curious about Reiki and/or energy work with crystals and stones? Now is your chance to experience what Clarissa refers to as an energy recalibration session. A group session is a great way to see if this type of energy work is something you want to explore further with a one to one session later on. We will begin with a brief discussion about what is meant by "energy work", the subtle body, what Reiki is and how stones compliment and support this type of energy work. The focus of this group session will be on recalibrating the 7 major energy centers recognized in the 7 chakra system. Clarissa will be aligning participants to a crystal grid designed to support your transition into this more reflective time of year when we may be spending more time in community at events, or with friends and loved ones. Stones will be placed on and/or around the body while participants are in deep relaxation. Reiki is offered to the group and individually. Yoga mats, blankets, and bolsters will be available for your use however please feel free to bring your own props from home. Dress comfortably. You may want to bring an eye pillow, sleep mask or scarf to limit external light. If you have your own stones that you would like to use for the session, please feel free to bring those. Session fee does not include stones however the stones Clarissa uses in your session will be available for purchase for additional cost. Session is limited 8 people. |

Each class starts with pranayama (breathing practices) and ends in savasana (relaxation). In between we will work through preparatory exercises that lead to more familiar asanas (yoga poses). Nita will focus on a different part of the body each class, explaining why this area is important to a well functioning spine.
