Wisdom Circle, formerly Meditation, Energy, & Ritual, is now being offered as a monthly gathering or satsang. What is satsang? The word itself translates loosely to "in the company of truth".
Historically, satsang referred only to a gathering in the presence of a true enlightened being, or satguru. In modern times, satsang has evolved to mean any gathering in which spiritual reflection, discussion, meditation or teaching takes place; for example, chanting in kirtan, dharma talks or philosophical debate. Each month we will gather for spiritual reflection, discourses, and exploration. Offered in a reverent but relaxed fashion, this is a time to honor and recharge yourself every month. Through meditation, mantra, discussion, ritual and more, we delve into topics, practices, and spiritual systems that facilitate personal growth and understanding. Folks from all philosophical, religious, and spiritual backgrounds are welcome. This offering is free to our community however donations are gratefully accepted. * No special supplies required * You may want to bring a journal or notebook * Dress comfortably - we will be seated or reclined the majority of the time and there may be light movement exercises offered |

Practice led by Lynda Kees (she/her), RYT 500
Yoga Nidra is a meditative yogic technique that facilitates deep physical, mental, and emotional relaxation. It is practiced in savasana (relaxation pose), wearing light, loose clothing, and lying comfortably in a "cocoon" or "nest" using blankets, pillow/bolster, eye pillow, neck support, whatever you need to feel completely comfortable. Lyning in shavasana (relaxation pose), you will remain aware of the instructor’s voice, moving the focus of your mind according to the instructions. Rotation of conscious awareness proceeds in a sequence beginning with a detailed full body scan, then through any of a wide variety of visualizations. In this practice, you are encouraged to remain relaxed, spontaneous, and at peace -- not striving for anything, allowing whatever experiences arise. Although Yoga Nidra is often referred to as “yogic sleep,” your body and mind are completely relaxed and your mind is alert. We will begin this practice with a few minutes of gentle stretching to get the kinks out before we settle down for this powerful, peaceful practice. Please bring a comfortable blanket or throw, socks, and your mat if you usually bring one. We will provide yoga mats, additional blankets, eye pillows, neck pillows, and bolsters for those who want to use them. Remember, you are creating a cozy nest for yourself to relax in for about 45 minutes. |

Third Fridays
Next Sound Bath: May 17th
6pm-7pm
Evening facilitated by Clarissa Boggess (she/her), owner/instructor
Cost to attend: $10. Pre-register or Drop In. Join us the third Friday of every month for an evening of grounding, relaxation, and meditation utilizing the gong, singing bowls, and other sound/vibrational methods that have been shown to offer measurable health benefits, aiding in alleviating symptoms of anxiety and stress, promoting more restful sleep, support in lowering blood pressure, and pain relief. Expect to sit or lie in relaxation while the deep, earthy tones of the Chao gong and bright, soothing tones of singing bowls and bells wash over you. For stressed and overly-active minds, the tones from the gong give the mind something to anchor to as you learn to release into deeper states of relaxation. Attendees are welcome and encouraged to bring their own yoga mat, pillows, blankets, or bolsters to pad their nest and support their comfort. The studio does have communal mats, blankets and bolsters available for public use at no additional cost. |
